Casa Dias is a project created for a couple residing in the United Kingdom who intend to spend their retirement years in Brazil, in a gated community situated roughly 100 kilometres from Brasília. Beyond taking into account the couple’s activities and preferences to ensure a design that truly delights them, the process also had to address the particular challenges of the regional climate. Given how hot and humid the area can be, the role of the sun becomes pivotal, influencing everything from shading strategies to ventilation solutions.

Furthermore, decisions regarding the choice of services and materials were guided by their availability and proximity, reflecting the practical realities of building in a location somewhat distant from large urban centres. By carefully balancing these factors, Casa Dias stands as a design that merges comfort and practicality, offering its owners a thoughtful retreat tailored to both their lifestyle and the unique conditions of the region.
